Weddings

For a photographer, there's a certain excitement that comes from wedding work, that we just don't get from other work subjects...

The Appeal of the Wedding

For a bride and groom, their wedding is singularly unique; there's the preparation, anticipation, nervousness, the 'unveiling', the union, the reverence, the emotion; then there's the actual celebration, the dancing, the drama, the music, and generally speaking, an all around happy atmosphere... not to mention, more subject matter than a photographer can shake a lens at.

For our weddings, a bride & groom have the option of a single photographer, or adding on a second (or even a third) photographer, as a means of providing the most expansive coverage of your event.  For our pricing structure, please refer to the Reservations page.  But for know, here are some samples, culled from some recent weddings.  Rather than show a random collection of the top 1% of images, we offer several weddings from start to finish, to give you a real feel of how we go about capturing your day...

Nomi & John

Married in the late summer, Nomi & John's wedding was self-contained.  While living in Washington DC, I commuted to New York to photograph their wedding, with everything taking place at the fabulous Brooklyn Academy of Music, in Brooklyn.

For this particular job, I was technically a second photographer, which is why there isn't a lot of formal portraiture.  But they were a fun couple, and a I was happy to be their celebration... they were amazing people & they made out job fun & easy.

Miriam & Dan- Do I need this title?

Miriam & Dan

Married in the late summer, Miriam & Dan's wedding was a self-contained event.  Everything took place in one locations, at the wonderful Raspberry Plains Estate in northern Virginia.

For their particular job, I was the main photographer, shooting their formal portraiture with medium format film, and the rest of the wedding with digital... for this slideshow, I have not yet scanned the portraits in, so most of what you see is done digitally. They were an easy-going, fun couple, and a I was happy to be there... it was a privilege to shoot for them.

Lacey & Jeff

Lacey & Jeff

Married in the late summer, Jeff & Lacey's wedding was a self-contained event, with some city-street walking added on.  While living in Washington DC, I commuted to New York to photograph their wedding, with all of the wedding events taking place at the Desmond Tutu Center in NYC.  We then left the grounds & took pictures in the walking park, built on a no-longer-used elevated train platform. Amazing day.

For this particular job, I was the main, and had a second shooter with me.  Everything was done digitally. But they were a fantastic to work with, and the produced some really great work, with little help from me or Joshua my second.
